Accessories Make The Outfit!

Happy New Year’s Eve! I hope you have something special planned to celebrate the New Year. First of all, I would like to thank everyone who reads my blog, and those who follow me on Instagram! I’ve got some fun projects planned for this year. I’m going to work on getting more active on social media, especially Instagram! Instagram is my favorite platform, and I get so much inspiration from other talented bloggers and influencers. I’d like to get out of my comfort zone and use Insta Stories more, but that will take some practice! So bear with me while I struggle through the technical aspects. Hopefully by this time next year, I’ll be a pro. Haha!

I need suggestions from you all on what you would like to see on the blog. More shop your closet posts, or do you like the new posts? Feel free to leave me a comment with any suggestions or ideas you have.

Today’s outfit is an all black outfit, accessorized with a warm blue scarf and blue handbag. I showed this outfit earlier this fall with a white sweater and white jeans. All you need is a colorful scarf and a coordinating handbag to match to change up your outfit.

My black velvet jeans are a couple years old from Loft, and they are still available! Click here for the link. I added a long sleeve black t-shirt that I’ve had in my closet.

The scarf I’m wearing was purchased last year from Nordstrom. It’s not available anymore, but I’ve linked a couple cute ones below. Amazon is a great place to find scarves. They have a huge selection at reasonable prices. My handbag is several years old. It’s Anne Klein. The exact one isn’t available anymore, but I have linked some similar ones below.

My black block heeled faux suede booties are also a couple years old. These are from Target, and not available anymore, but I have linked some others here.

  1. I like both the shop your closet posts and the new outfit posts. Have you done any posts using one piece of clothing three or four different ways? Keep up the good work!

    1. Thank you! That’s a great idea! I sometimes get a rut of wearing the same outfit the same way all the time. It would help me look “outside the box” and try some new ways to style an outfit. I’ll work on a post showing that idea!

  2. This is one of the prettiest outfits I’ve seen anywhere. That blue is becoming on you. I’ve done this combo for the holidays using a red scarf and a red bag. I’ll have to try this with burgundy or lavender or green.

As for future posts I like both but would like to see a little more of the shop my closet since I already have a lot of clothes. But sometimes a gal needs something new to update her wardrobe and look more current. I really like your style.

    1. Thanks, Cindylou. I was inspired by my beautiful mom, who wore a similar black outfit with a beautiful blue scarf last winter. I also love your idea of trying all black with burgundy, lavender or green. Thanks for the tip!
