Distressed Jeans, Leopard, Shop Your Closet

Weekend Shop My Closet – Black Hooded Cardigan

This week’s Shop My Closet is a loose fitting black tee under a black knit hooded cardigan from TJ Maxx. This is a great weekend outfit for staying home or running errands.

I love this cardigan, especially the hood and pockets. I don’t see it online, but here and here are a couple links to similar black cardigans.

I added this gold necklace from Baublebar. Here is the link.

I wore a pair of faded distressed jeans that I’ve had for awhile. Here is a link for a similar pair.

My handbag (link here) is from Nordstrom. My booties are new this year from a local boutique in town. They are a leopard print, but a very subtle print. I have linked two similar pairs of leopard booties here and here.

I have a painting project this weekend! I have put off painting my living and dining room for 5 years now. Honestly, the project just seemed overwhelming to me. I work full time, and I also have a furniture painting/refinishing business, so I don’t have a lot of extra time. I finally decided to break down the project into 3 weekends. Last weekend I painted all the ceilings in my downstairs, which was the part of the project I was most dreading. It felt great to get that done!

This weekend I will be painting the dining room walls and trim. I have chosen Sea Salt by Sherwin Williams, a blue-green-grey paint. Here is a swatch. I can’t wait to see how this turns out!

  1. Love this outfit and thank you for the inspiration! I can copy this one. 🙂

Sea Salt has been a favorite color of mine for several years but I’ve never used it. We have a bathroom that seems to be begging for that little bit of color. Let us know what you think.

    1. Thanks for the kind comments! I painted a small swatch on my wall last night, and so far I like it. I researched this color on pinterest and several people that have used this color said the same thing. It takes on different shades in different lights. Last night, it looked more green, this morning in daylight, it appeared to be blue-grey. Can’t wait to see it on all four walls. I’ll try to post a photo when I’m done.

  2. Today’s outfit is pretty much how I dress daily! Sea Salt and colors slightly deeper are on my radar. Like Stacey, my bathroom would be a great place for it. The master bedroom is decorated in aqua. Have a nice weekend.

    1. Thank you, Jess! I finished the dining room, and I love it. Next up is the living room. I will post pictures soon. I did a lot of research on this color, and the designers who use it often said the color changes according to the light in the room. On sunny days, it is more blue. On cloudy days and evenings, it looks more green. It really brightened up the room!
